In this class, the sixth in The Ten Words series, Ross covers the prohibition against idolatry. In this class, Ross focuses on the commands within the Ten Words that deal with Idolatry, namely, “No you shall make for yourself an idol, every form that is in the heaven above and that is on the earth beneath, and that is in the waters beneath the earth, no you shall bow down to them and no you shall serve them.” In the teaching, Ross discusses the various words used to describe idols, some ancient near eastern texts by idolators, and prophetic texts describing the making of idols.
