In this week’s teaching, Ross continues through the life of Jacob according to the ancient Triennial Torah cycle of readings. This week, the Torah is focused on Leah, but seldom has the reader taken notice of the unloved woman of Jacob. In this class, Ross attempts to give voice to Leah through a careful reading of her words. Based upon the narrative, particularly the naming of her children, Ross shows the depth of Leah’s pain. Additionally, he challenges all of us to consider the tender and soft eyed ones among us.
