In this teaching, Ross covers Genesis 33:18-35:8. This is the third in the series on the Return of Jacob. In this class, Ross shows that all of the promises made to Jacob upon his departure from the land have come to pass. The “prodigal patriarch” has come home, and he is changed. But what about his family? A central part of this reading is on the actions of two of Jacob’s sons – Levi and Simeon. How are we to view their behavior, and on the behaviors of many of the biblical personalities? Do the biblical writers expect us to excuse the actions of the people of the Book? Should we not make an honest assessment of the presentation in Scripture and learn from the good as well as the bad? Ross proposes that this is the case.
