In this teaching, Ross covers the story of Hagar, Sarai’s Egyptian slave girl that she gave to Abram in order to be built up through her child-bearing. As Ross points out, rather than building Sarai up, the Egyptian begins to esteem Sarai lightly as a result of her pregnancy. In the narrative covered in this teaching, Ross explores, among other things, connections between the events described here and the subsequent stories of the descendants of Abram. Did for instance, Sarai’s treatment of Hagar have any effect on the children of Israel? Is it okay to question the promises of God? In addition to trusting in God, what else is necessary for a true walk of faithfulness. These and other questions are answered in this class.
