As the children of Israel prepared to cross into the land promised by an oath to the fathers, Moses gave a series of speeches. These are believed to be the content of the Bible’s Book of Deuteronomy. The purpose of these words, as stated in the fifth verse of the first chapter, is to make the teaching plain. In this class Ross addresses what are popularly known as the “blessings and the curses.” Torah reading Ki Tavo contains 121 verse. Approximately 70% of this reading centers on these consequences of the covenant. Countless people have come to associate Torah observance with being under a curse, but Ross shows that this in fact is exactly the opposite case. Also in this class, Ross confronts other false teachings as he puts before his audience the Blessing and the Curse.
